Toronto, Ontario - ENBALA is proud to announce its membership in the OpenADR Alliance, which is helping advance the continued adoption of real-time demand management solutions through an open communications standard. OpenADR (Open Automated Demand Response) is an open and standardized way for utilities and system operators to communicate demand response signals with each other and their participating customers using a common language over any existing IP-based communications network, such as the Internet.
The OpenADR alliance was formed to advance open standards in Automated Demand Response (ADR) and is responsible for the education, training and certification needed to bring OpenADR to market.
"We are delighted to have ENBALA join the OpenADR Alliance," said Barry Haaser, managing director of the OpenADR Alliance. "As an expert in demand-side management for over a decade and a leading supplier of real-time demand management solutions, adding support for the OpenADR standard creates more opportunities for utilities and system operators to adopt the standard."
OpenADR is important to the continued growth and reliable adoption of ADR by utilities and their customers. GOFlex™, ENBALA's multipurpose intelligent load management platform, delivers demand management solutions to utilities to help address many operational challenges emerging in the modern power system.
"Real-time, dispatchable demand management is a crucial tool for the modern utility," said Ron Dizy, President and CEO of ENBALA. "The OpenADR Alliance is helping utilities continue to move forward with the next wave of demand management by developing and fostering a standard communications protocol and enabling more reliable and active customer participation. We're excited to be a part of this essential Alliance."
